Rullhuset is a deep dive into the significance of a special place in our lives. In light of the fact that the skate hall is set to be demolished, it becomes especially clear why places like Rullhuset are so important. In my work as a psychologist, I have also seen how places like these and non-profit associations quite literally save lives.

A skate hall in Kiruna, Sweden, that became a lifeline for young people in a city literally being moved.
As the mine (LKAB) expands and the ground beneath the old city center cracks, homes, schools, and childhood memories are torn down and rebuilt a few kilometers away. Rullhuset (the skate hall) is also set to be demolished. In this urban transformation, a group of young skaters, community members, and passionate individuals refuse to give up the fight to be included in the new city.
In the film, Rullhuset becomes more than just a building; it becomes a character – a pulsating heart in the center of change. Through Milton, Hannes, Eli, Malin, and Marcus, the film portrays youth, friendship, and resistance in a time of transformation.
