We have done eight short films about the Sami seasons where we get to meet eight Sami creators. The films are made on behalf of the association Hijven´s Umeå2014-project and will be primarily screened on the web but also used in other events during the European Capital of Culture year. Support from the Sami Parliament and Umeå Municipality has enabled the project. Today is the premiere of Daelvie-Winter. Read the interview with Oskar and see the film here on umea2014.se.
We are very pleased that the documentary “Bit ihop” by Sophia Josephson and Emma Thorsander is nominated in the category New Doc on TEMPO Film Festival this year. The award goes to a promising documentary film director and consists of 50 000 SEK of which half in technology support from Filmbasen / Film Stockholm. “Bit ihop” is produced by Bautafilm.
Music video for one of the songs on the local band Jum Jum’s first album. The song is a sort of coming of age, impossible love story and a homage to Romain Gavras music video for DJ Mehdi – Signatune.
Undress me by Victor Lindgren got awarded for best short film at the most important LGBT festival in Ryssia, Side by Side.
On November, 30 the closing ceremony of the “Side by Side” LGBT Film Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia was delayed. Shorly after the ceremony began, guests had to go outside the “Skorokhod” venue and wait for more than an hour while the police was performing a check of premises upon a new bomb threat call. It was a fifth call in a row during the 10 days of the festival running time.
Special guests of the festival, film director Gus Van Sant, screenplay writer Dustin Lance Black and producer Bruce Cohen arrived at the grand finale to present a special screening of the Oscar-winning “MILK” movie starring Sean Penn.
